Returning player - purchased after RoC launch - stat issues?

Hi folks,

Returning player from many many years ago jumping into current content. Have gotten three toons through the new signature, leveled to 135, and into Untold Heroics.

Trying to troubleshoot here why my stats are anywhere from ~100,000 - 200,000 below other players.

From the conversations I've had I understand there are "buff pets" granted via /claim to people who pre-order expansions, like the Armored Ogler for Rage of Cthurath, that grant massive buffs to attributes, potency, ability mod, and some moderate increases to xp gain and experimental crafting.

Right now my stats on my 135 Channeler (13200 Resolve, name is Farwarden on Maj'dul if you want to look me up) are:

Strength: 239983
Agility: 239970
Stamina: 421344
Intelligence: 239950
Wisdom: 240053

Seeing as these attributes contribute a lot to your output, I'm feeling pretty dejected that there's seemingly nothing I can do to get a "buff pet" since I started the expansion just after it launched.

I've got familiar, mount, mercenary, and all of their respective buffs active, and all attribute increasing AAs purchased, before you ask! :) Also have the first of the Void black adornments purchased after completing All the Rage achievement.

Is there something else that might be contributing to this? Or is it truly just the Armored Ogler?

Thanks all,

Farwarden

You could be missing several things. ROS increase in buffs , french slobberer buff from ROR, there is just so many besides pre order pet that is hard to say. The ROS increase I believe is now on the panda quests in SF on spire island and the French slobberer is from the solo collections from ROR instances ...you will need the weekly as it gives the no trades. The green adorn from Kael which is obtained by making a toon on Kael server and doing the weekly quests then you can get on all toons on live server. Also have someone make you a new plume that is 1242 cb, There is also the Fear of Eternity zone in Sodden Archipelago that you can get 2 runes from that once you have them all leveled up by collecting the mirrors and raid stuff they will convert to blues for ROC(given that people aren't really doing SOD raids you prob can't do both but you can do the one from doing solos at least). There is also your guild buff you need to have 5 of the Guild Advancement Tokens in your currency to make effective. Like I said tons of stuff.

Pre-order pet, a discussion which comes up every year. They've not seen fit to allow returning players to attain a lesser version of this.

Have a deity and commune with a highest quality deity altar, available in guild halls and from the repeatable Key quests (very RNG) in Thalumbra.

Mastercrafted food and drink

If your guild hall doesn't have the altars to commune with your diety, there are altars out in the world where you can. I make the trip up to Luclin, from the port up in nexus go east and zone. Most are behind a door along the right side of the area about halfway up on the map, but Tunare is in the grassy area near the zone in and others may be scattered about the area

Unless you are really into min/maxing the French Slobberer is skipable. It gives somewhere in the 5-7K range of potency which is a rounding error at 2.4M+

Lack of preorder pet is just something you're going to have to deal with unfortunately, no way to get it after launch

As advised, Kael Drakkel rune is still nice to have, but at least with useable green adorns in Tishan's box means you aren't rocking an empty slot if you don't have it

Definitely do the Panda quests for the RoS era AA boosts fr the Heroic tree and be sure to actually spec into them if not already

I'm also a returning player after 5+ years off.

The pet back then was nice but never a deal breaker. The amount it's at now feels more like an issue that from my view, I'd rather just not return.

Why not add it the the marketplace as a one time buy option for X amount? Or add the previous xpacs pet to the gear box at the start of the timeline so the returning play has some semblance of that gap filled?

It does seem very dejecting to do all the work to catch up and find out after that you're unable to truly do so. It makes me feel like daybreak doesn't want returning players.

I have all the same issues.

It doesn't help Monks are kind of bad right now. Being another X amount of stats behind has me questioning trying to return at all.

Monks are not bad right now. I'm able to tank current Group and Raid content on mine with no issues.

I will add though, that for a returning player there are SO many sources of stats it is hard to keep it straight. I've spent a lot of time this year analyzing members of my group and raid to see how to get their potency and crit bonus up. It takes concerted effort, not just running zones and equipping the gear. What once were nice bonuses are now mandatory minimums. Not super friendly to returning players who don't know where to look.

Okay, I'm waay behind on the Commune buff since I solo exclusively. I found the altars in the Shadow Haven, but the Tunare one is proving elusive since it's not on any map. The only zone to the outside is to Aurelian and there is no altar on the map. I looked there because of the mention of grassy, but I just remembered there is a grassy area IN Shadow Haven (which incidentally has a very wonderful little scenario of a halfling scolding her Zelniak for eating the cows :giggle: )

Is there anywhere else that has these things? Also I'm guessing that they are no longer available to purchase or craft since the end of the Year of Darkpaw.

Thanks for all the good info in this thread everyone!

Tunare's altar in Shadowhaven is not with the others, it is in the Druid's Grove just past the entrance pools and up the stairs. The altar is basically right on top of the location icon at /way -670 0 -52

Thank you! I looked up the Key quests in Thalumbra too. I really like that zone so maybe I'll settle in for questing for them as well.

Depending on how long you were away there are the AA buffs you can find on the panda. They look like purple coins.
