Fixed Internally Pack Pony Harvests Phantom Nodes

In Western Wastes it appears my pack pony runs past Ship Salvage and harvests Larch Wood from it, even though I've completed the TS Signature Line and can no longer see the salvage rates.

Those messages are in different windows because of the way I set up my UI. Originally I thought maybe there was a Branch node under the world there, but it seems that it is from the salvage boxes instead based on the first message. I'm assuming this is a bug and not intended.

The items are always there. Your character is just flagged to see them during certain quests. This is far from a bug. They could code the pack pony to ignore them but that would take time and be a waste since they hurt nothing, only help you get extra harvests occasionally.

When the prelude event went in, I noticed my pack pony was getting the Quellious' Breath when I didn't have the tradeskill quests up. So yeah, they do tend to pull from nodes we can't see.

Disagree on it not being a bug. I clearly have a different definition of that than you do. From my perspective, getting resources from something that is really isn't supposed to be there is a bug. I get the way it's coded makes it actually present, but invisible most of the time. But if the Devs want it to work that way, or don't want to fix it, it certainly isn't a big deal to me. I just reported it in case they weren't aware of it and want it to work differently.

i believe denmum is aware of it and said it is a bug but not something that was being prioritized because it is pretty low impact.

Pack pony gathers stuff while you're out? New function? Random q, I haven't done anything in SoD yet.

after a certain point in its quest line, the pack pony will pick up harvests at random from nodes that it passes. this is the case in any zone. in this case, there are special nodes that spawn for a daily trade skill quest and the pack pony will gather harvests from those nodes even if they are not visible to the player (i.e. not on the quest). since those nodes do not have normal harvests, it apparently picks random stuff from the harvest nodes in the zone instead. that is the bug, the pony should not be gathering the harvests.

Weird. I've never seen this behavior from my pony and it's fully upgraded, but I haven't done the SoD line yet.

Pony should definitely not be picking things up if there's no normal harvests I'd imagine.

you can't get the daily tradeskill quests that are involved unless you have completed the SoD tradeskill line, so you would not notice it if you had not completed that quest line.

Auto harvesting comes from completing one portion of the Plains of Magic Crafting timeline. It can even harvest nodes randomly flying on griffons say in Nec Forest. But Yes, it's known that it's picking up usually larch wood from the hidden from us special harvest nodes for the Western Waste tradeskill. But is not a priority to tackle.

Meh, it's bonus harvests without harvesting. Not a problem until all of the depots are filled, including guild harvest depots. Then eventually we will get new recipes for more amalgamations for the excess mats. Gotta get those Brews of Readiness!

Yep, just full, and full, and full, and full harvest bag, and a few backpacks.... yeah, it gets that way.

I'm fixing all the stuff for Ballads of Zimara, GU125 and Scars of Destruction now. Once that goes live, please let me know any specific things that the pony is trying to yoink harvests from that isn't a normal zone harvest.

Ooof. That's unfortunate it has to be done manually. I figured that all the harvestable objects had a boolean flag something like node.visible that you'd just be able to check, and if it was set to false, the pony wouldn't harvest it. I have no insight into the games code or data structure though. If I run into any others, I'll let you know.
