[Origins] Common Tradeskill Questions

  • At level 20, you receive upgraded crafting reaction arts to replace the ones you received at artisan 2. However, they do not/will not replace them in the crafting interface, and your skillups will be less because you're not using high level reaction arts. Create a regular hot bar with the crafting reactions you want. When you start a craft, click on something outside the craft window like a bag. This usually won't let you use your reactions on the crafting window since it's not your main window anymore. Then you can use the buttons on your hotbar that you have set up to craft to your delight.
Is this being addressed and fixed? It is a pain to set up and do these extra steps that should be upgrading on the window, or at least make it so we can put the upgraded spells into the window without having to take up a hotbar for the skills that should be in the window to begin with.

Not planned in the short term, to my knowledge.

We actually had to make our own hotbars for these back then, and didn't have the window at all. While we have the window now due needing to use a newer UI element without the underlying code to update the buttons properly, it isn't a priority at this time and will (probably) stay like this until we're at a timeline in the code where the code can catch up to the UI window.

I remember, but now that we have the window doing it wrong automatically, it's worse now than it was originally

That's unfortunate, could you do a hot fix to the UI window that would allow draggable icons there? That would be a very simple quick and easy fix that could allow us to put the correct spells in the window ourselves. Would such a change be something we could do client side with a custom UI window?

Without knowing the code yourself, you cannot assess if it is a simple, quick, and/or easy fix. It's pretty likely it is none of those three, no matter how the surface (what you see as a client) see. It would involve saving data either local or server and reloading it instead of the default. Currently, on Origins, it's not possible to change the order of the reactions in the UI and have then save between each time the window is closed and opened or by play session/zoning.

Well as someone that regularly modifies UI elements and code to suit my needs and my liking, I am not a completely clueless to the process or what it would take to correct it, I have made similar changes before. I have written new UI elements and windows from the ground up. So that experience is where my statement stems from that it would likely not be a difficult process.

Where do I go for Seeking a Tradeskill Profession? The NPC (tradeskill delegate) you need for that is a) at the top of the stairs in the suburb crafting instances for Qeynos crafters
I still cannot find the person based on this information. Does anyone know where in Qeynos I can find the person to teach me my tradeskill profession, I am currently level 9 artisan

Qeynos Harbor. When you zone in from the bell, he's in the open sided building across the water from the bell. Alfred Ironforge I believe his name is. this is for those playing on Origin server.

"Seeking a Tradeskill Profession" was the name of the tutorial line, and is totally separate from the NPC you speak with at level 9 to get to 10 and at 19 to get to 20. You need Alfred Ironforge in Qeynos Harbor. He's in the docks area, in with all the construction.

my question is pretty simple in the t1 and t2 recipe for the scholar classes the rare distribution seems way off most the spells for mages/scouts/healers use the same rare material and jewelry is really limited due to the bottleneck of this. like for example I have collected nearly 45 copper clusters with nothing to do with them. 2 earrings and 2 rings for one starter toons when they need more of the lapis to get their upgrades and their discos for new crafts, I'm a bit confused on this. Because originally copper was mage spells, lapis was healer spells, loams where fighters and scouts.... I don't know when they made the change to this new way, but I find it frustrating. Was this intended to streamline or was it to confuse new crafters when they change tiers.

This was how it was during the timeframe that Origins is targeting. Yes, it is frustrating, but that it how it was at the time. :(

How often is it suggested that there should be a crafters who make mounts, or is that being planned for EQ3 if it still exists?

That has zero to do with Origins. Please don't derail the thread.
