Hanging Up My Rolling Pin

Dear Fellow Norrathians,

This is very a difficult post to write, just as the decision behind it was extremely difficult. After much deliberation and on the recommendation of more than one of my doctors, I will be leaving Daybreak Games today, January 9 and heading into retirement.

Some of you know my struggle with chronic health issues (I sometimes feel like I should be earning frequent flyer miles at my local hospital!); I have hit the point where not only is my health negatively impacting my work, but my work is also negatively impacting my health, and it is time to focus more fully on my health.

I have loved working with the EQ2 team these last five years and I truly wish that I could spend many more years directly contributing to the game and to the crafting and housing communities. I will still continue to love and support EQ2 and the community but I'll be stepping back into a less direct role: playing the game, providing content through my website, and likely some video content as well after I have rested a bit more.

I'll see you around in Norrath!

Love and freshly-baked jumjum pie to all,
Denmum

As you step away from your role after nearly five years of pouring heart, humor, and endless patience into EverQuest II, we want you to know just how deeply you’ve touched this community. You didn’t just guide us through quests, tradeskills, and chaos—you made Norrath feel like home.

Your creativity shaped our worlds.
Your compassion shaped our community.
Your presence shaped our memories.

While it’s incredibly hard to see you go, your health and well‑being matter more than anything. We’re all standing with you, sending every good thought, every prayer, and every ounce of strength your way. May the road ahead bring healing, rest, and brighter days.

Thank you for everything you’ve given us—your time, your talent, your laughter, and your heart. You will always be part of the EQ2 family, and we hope you feel the love of thousands of players cheering you on.

We’re rooting for you, always.

You were one of my first co-worker friends when I started, I'm going to miss you so terribly much...but I know this is something you must do. I've had more time to come to terms with your departure and it still pains me to see you go. :( Best of luck in your retirement, it's been an honor and privilege to have had the opportunity to meet you and work with you. I'm not crying, you're crying!! 😿

Thank you for finding some spare time to bring back some old Brawler gi appearances that I documented a few years back. There's still a bunch more out there, but it was awesome to get a few more into my wardrobe. Take care!
