Suggestion Check box to mute others pets and familiars and anything that they summon that makes noise

Yea I keep threatening mine that I need a new pair of house slippers but it doesn't phase them at all. I think they know I wouldn't do it. They're just like yea right mom, now where did you put that new cable I know you bought.

Ya I have one of those too right now and he's almost 2. I leave anything out, everything is in drawers or closets. Toilet paper on the toilet paper holder forget about it. Paper towels on the paper towel holder forget about it. Knick Knacks on shelves forget about it. I think it's one of the girls though that keep chewing on the cords. I'm waiting for them to chew on the wrong one and get zapped.

Seriously, I love that it gives the sound team something to work on, but familiars that *other players* cannot hide for themselves should not even have sounds to begin with. It doesn't matter if it's done in the name of world immersion, we are being audibly tormented by other players who keep their armies out just to spite other players.

I have to dismiss many of the mercs and familiars when not needed to avoid the noise. There's also a loose something in the guild hall that makes a gawd-awful racket, need to track it down!

As for RL pets - so glad none of ours are chewers. The cats are even good about staying off the PC desk and kitchen countertops (mostly!) That said, two puppies arriving a few weeks. We are in mid-puppy proofing now.

Hide them, ive no idea why people run around with a farmyard of animals chasing them. 90% of them dont do anything :) but the option to mute would be so so good. I had to go craft in the GH yesterday due to the double fox squeal i was getting. :)

Actually, almost all of the critters I have out are out specifically because they do do something. I only have the fox visible on one character, because it vibes with her, but I sure hate all the racket it makes and eventually I may make it invisible like it is on the rest of my characters to shut it up.

The ideal solution for all this is threefold: 1) Make the sounds MUCH less frequent, minutes apart rather than seconds; 2) give us the ability to make others' pets/mercs/mounts invisible/inaudible; and 3) give us the ability to silence our own critters without having to make them invisible.

If all that is too much to ask, or isn't possible for whatever reason, then at the very least, please greatly reduce the frequency, and possibly the volume, of the sounds. I think that alone would improve our experience dramatically.

Even reduced frequency is not adequate for some of them. Have you heard the black cat petamorph? I love it because it's small and out of the way but the sound is one of the worst ones yet. Even if it's only once a minute that is too long. Same with the fox. Just mute them.

But also, the only pets that really do something that can't be hidden are the harvest ponies and combat pets. I see so many people with the dog/pre-order/familiar all out. All of those can be hidden and you get full benefit.
