Kaitheel, can you make Naggeneen stop damaging us? or severely lessen his ability to do damage? Undergeared newb barely survived this fight.
he was hitting me for 600-900+ and on an 18k hps character it was really frustrating waiting for Lager ranged missile refresh while trying to have myself healed.

All 4 harvestables from Glimmermash Depths linger in bags after material conservation effect fired off. With this quest being repeatable only once per year maybe they could be even made temporary? until we log off?
Underfoot sweet beets, Underfoot potatoes, Fresh spring water and Malted barley.

Random observation so not sure this is a bug. I entered the 'Bar of Brell' in the Commonlands. When I clicked the door to exit I only could choose Antonica, Greater Fay or Frostfang (I think). Shouldn't I have been able to exit to the Commonlands?

The door checks your alignment and offers you city regions that are on the good side of the spectrum.

New tradeskill quest!
Distill Water Runs Deep offered by Prinna Springkettle in the Bar of Brell

This leaves a lot to be desired. Huge zone with no mount allowed so it takes forever to search for and find the items. Then you find out you need basic kindling. I liked it better when we could harvest something in the special zones like this to use as fuel. If you cannot summon or someone doesn't have them on the broker, you have to backtrack to town just to grab some fuel.

I thought the actual fight was funny but slow as can be waiting for him to throw the stein so I could throw it back. It feels like a busy work quest rather than a fun event for a limited time holiday.

I appreciate the additional testing and feedback. I tend to believe variety is a good thing, and a little challenge, such as a fight with a different mechanic or having to search for harvestables, can be a good thing, especially for new content.

That said, I'll examine the feedback that you have submitted the last few days, but as it is after the design cut off for this event, I cannot guarantee any changes will be made in time for the event's activation this year.

Thankfully, all of the items are removed when the quest is deleted or completed.

Sometimes it can be fun. It tends to not be quite as fun when you know you have a short time frame to complete it. I am a proud altaholic and that makes me wary of overly long holiday events. On the bright side, I'm sure some are going to love your middle option reward.

Thanks Kaitheel. I tested on this particular quest but the observations are really more generic. Some of us simply lack the reflexes and co-ordination needed for combat content and need some alternative. Until recently that alternative has been tradeskill content. And the problem is only going to get worse over time as the section of the playerbase having this kind of issue ghrows.

It's billed that way in the event announcement which is what concerned me when I saw various posts here alluding to combat. I was in fact expecting combat given what I'd read here, which is why I took the trouble to test to confirm and see if there was any way to avoid it, but if there is I couldn't find it. But as it was billed 'tradeskill' I would not normally have expected to encounter a combat situation. If it were billed as a normal holiday event I would expect combat and would simply avoid it as I know I can no longer handle it. Occasionally I might mentor down and let a merc handle it but I suspect this zone blocks mercs. I didn't actually test for it.

Thanks Chikken, I tested that and yes it's aggro free, but I'd hardly call it intuitive to go the long way round like that. When I exited the instance I looked for a landmark to place the island - it's not on the map -and the only thing in sight was the river mouth with Nightbloods and barracuda. So when I came back to the EL dock the logical route seemed to be horse to Misty Grove and thread through Nightbloods.

First person view is essential. Uwk. With my vision problems if I rack the camera back the only thing I can see is my toon. Forget incoming mobs or finding things on the ground. I prefer it anyway as my early gaming was Daggerfall which has no third person and I like the immersion factor.
It's good to have first person as an option, then. :)

But seriously, I cannot handle it physically at all. I don't get motion sick in RL (not seasick or airsick; if I do get carsick, I probably would've been sick anyway just staying at home), but boy howdy, 15-20 minutes of first person camera is all I can handle. X-P

Or at least, tone it down a bit, like in an Update Tuesday or Thursday while the event is on Live? :-/

What I do in cases like that (more often than I care to count :-/) is I always keep ahold of my Green Journeyman's Cloak (for my toons on my Gold account; my poor F2P's don't get that, which is one of the many reasons I usually don't play them at all) and put it in my Inventory. I have it set up on my hotbar (much like the Improved Ale Goggles and whatever helmet or hood I might be wearing ordinarily) to switch between my +25% speed cloak and my regular gear one. Helps immeasurably; there are some of my older toons, even, that would've been slogging along at like 6% run speed without it. X-P

(And yeah, I had to make a note in my Brewday Quest spreadsheet to always bring Basic Kindling with me before heading out to EL initially; even then, there were times I'd forget. Thank heavens we had it on the Broker, but at one point, the one seller of it was sold out, so I had to bail and come back in after getting more... X-P If there were stashes of it at his distillery, that'd be one thing...)

who really dislikes that steep a restriction on mounts; no Leaping, Gliding, or Flying I can understand, but no Ground Mounts? :(

Nageneen stops taking damage. Crafted the drinks to lure it, engaged in combat. Picked up a stein from the ground to throw at it. Mob was stuck at about 85%, taking zero damage, dropping no more steins to throw. No clues in zone or on mob's buffs to explain what to do.

Really frustrating and disappointing. The reward looked fun, the weapon essence, but that's a big waste of time since it seems unkillable.

It seems to me that your testing should take place earlier so that you will be able to make changes such as these; otherwise, a lot of testing is wasted.
