I think it would be nice to be in this guild - it sounds nice.

I mostly solo but wouldn't mind having a guild for doing some grouping.

I have three toons on Origins. Not sure if you would want all three or just one.

Whimsy (lvl 10 warden)
Waken (lvl 9 paladin)
Whom (lvl 8 conjuror)

Lately online with Waken mostly but I tend to rotate every few days.

Warning (lol) - I can be fairly quiet in chat most of the time (occasionally I get chatty) as I have a harder time typing in chat than I used to.

Invited! And re: your concerns:

We are one of the few guilds out there that (along with group-friendly players) also welcomes people who prefer to play solo. Why do we do that? Because I was that player once. I wanted to join guilds because I enjoyed doing writs and it seemed a waste for a guild not to get a few status points for it. Also I liked having a friendly chat now and then while doing something dull.

We do have fun in our groups (and can accommodate slow players and teach newbies in said groups) but we also appreciate the sort of zen peace that can come from just wandering Norrath solo at your own speed.

Also, regarding guild chat. Even if people don't have any difficulties physically with typing, there are some days when we just don't really feel like chatting. And that's fine. By being a part of our guild you boost our numbers, which boosts morale overall to see X number of people online. So just by being there you are supporting us.

IMO there are as many ways to contribute to a guild as there are to play EQ2. Spoiler: it's a lot more ways than many players/guilds assume. :)

Just a heads up - RL has me very busy this weekend, so other than the Saturday Regulars thing you might not see me much in-game. Then I am away from game entirely M-Th of next week. I WILL BE RETURNING after that.

I feel the need to emphasize this because for a lot of non-casual players, being absent from game for 4 days means you've quit. Because if most players are gone for 4 days, they'd come back find out the guild has moved on and forgotten them. Not the case here. We are the Slow and Steady crowd. We take breathers so we don't burn out or lose our RL/game balance. We patiently wait for each other when RL calls us away, and none of us are looking to zoom to endgame and leave the others behind.

My officers can take care of invites and promotions in my absence. I will be longing to return to EQ2 the whole time I'm away, and I will be delighted to see you all again Friday the 12th. :)

Having two officers unavoidably away from PC and one with a stomach bug has inspired me to post that we are officially looking for more folks who like the idea of being a low-pressure leader in a guild that emphasizes tolerance, kindness, creativity, and camaraderie.

Ideal qualities for a SoR officer:

1. A kind and patient personality.
2. Enthusiastic desire to play EQ2 multiple days per week (our officers are the only ones who have attendance expectations and even those are lax)
3. Finding it easy to chat and keep conversations going when online
4. Initiative in coming up with events and ideas on occasion
5. A bit of altitis wouldn't hurt. Gives you more options for helping other players.

Huge priority given to anyone who can arrange to reliably spend a lot of time in EQ2 during my biweekly M-Th absences. This absence is 100% unavoidable for me and it would ease my mind to know someone can be there to answer questions, promote members, etc. during peak play times when I am gone.

Note: officers will NEVER be asked to deal with guild drama. Bring all that straight to me. We haven't really had any yet, but I do not believe us immune. That stuff is my problem; I'll handle it. :)

If this sounds like you, even if you are not in the guild yet, please get in touch!

Heyya, If you're still recruiting, I have a little Froglok Troubador that would be interested! I will probably have an alt or two as well, eventually... I tend to be an altaholic! My Froglok is Croakus, and is about the leave the isle for Qeynos, as soon as I complete the collections there.

Croakus!! Love the name, makes me giggle. Love frogloks.

We are always and ever recruiting! Well unless we get so big that guild chat becomes a blur of scroll. Then I might need to chill.

I was expecting to be gone until Friday but it looks like RL may be releasing me early this time, so perhaps I can meet Croakus tomorrow!

Hello! Attention everyone in the range of level 14-18 on the Qeynos side of things!

Tomorrow evening is our weekly Saturday Grouping event, and we will be hitting up Blackburrow and/or Antonica! Anyone, even not in our guild, is welcome if you're in the right level range, you're only asked to abide by our One Guild Rule for the duration: be kind.

This is not a maximum speed grind - we will be chatting and being silly and communicating about strategy and plans, pursuing quest objectives, maybe even giving solicited advice to newer players, so the impatient need not apply!

For best results, please show up sometime between 6:45-7p Eastern and send me (Leialee) a tell letting me know your class and level! Blackburrow groups will be formed around availability of tanks/healers - groups for Antonica questing can be any size and composition. You may also reply here to reserve a spot.

Latecomers don't despair! Unless we happened to get a number exactly divisible by six by 7p Eastern (4pm Pacific/Daybreak time), I can probably find a group to stick you in!

I might be interested in helping out with this. I used to run a guild a long time ago and I login for a few hours most days.

Times, however, are random cos I'm in the UK with a strange sleep schedule.

That works nicely, actually, because a lot of our officers are on at the more "common" times and it'd be nice to have some coverage at other times. Hit me up on Discord and we can chat in more detail!

Details for tomorrow's Saturday Grouping!

Meetup Location: Antonica, Southern Gate to Qeynos
Level Range: 16-20
When: Saturday July 27, 4pm Pacific/Daybreak time (7p Eastern, midnight Sunday UK)

You do not have to be in the guild to join in, but please abide by our Rule #1 of kindness and respect to everyone else on the server for the duration.

These are quest-focused, relaxed, chatty groups, newbie questions encouraged and answered. We will not be speed-grinding, and there may be Dad Jokes.

All classes welcome. I will assist in putting together groups with the best balance we can figure out. Any group of 5-6 that has a healer and tank will be sent to Blackburrow or Firemyst Gully as they prefer; smaller or tank-free groups can head out to Antonica to do writs, hunt heroic enemies, or whatever they like.

You can RSVP here with your character's name, class, and expected level, or you can send me (Leialee) a tell sometime in the half hour or so before the event starts, to help us find you just the right group. Or join in halfway and try your luck! See you Saturday!

I definitely would like to check you all out! I'll look for you this weekend. Now that I've got my bearings I've been wanting to find a casual group of folks. I've found a couple of pick up groups in the starter areas, and everyone's been super nice on the server so far. I wasn't sure I'd stay, but now I'm hooked. :) I've rolled a Templar (Fiore, lvl 10) and have started him towards being an armourer. I love crafting & gathering & sightseeing and have a hard time saying "no" to people with feathers over their heads. I'm definitely on the slow-and-steady pace.

My mains are on Skyfire (Fasci, Mulleinn) but our little family guild kinda fizzled (life happens!) and I haven't played for months. Coming back really does feel like Renewal!

I'm still a little low for your Blackburrow group tomorrow but maybe I'll show up at the gates to cheer you all on!

You honestly sound perfect for us, and I will be happy to toss you a guild invite when you're on so you can meet the gang and see what you think! Friend me on Leialee and Caryl and hit me up anytime.

Just posted this in guild Discord, and think maybe a lot of other people might need to see it too, so:

In both EQ and EQ2, there is a culture of daily play/addiction that is seen as mainstream, and any deviation from the "log on for 5+ hours per day" habit is seen as an anomaly that must be explained and apologized for. This is not the case in SoR.

Remember that the guild's entire purpose is to provide a haven for players who wish to maintain a healthy balance between EQ/EQ2 and RL, other games, etc. Unless you're an officer, or unless you have promised a specific person to do something in the game together in the near future and are cancelling those plans, there is no need to explain wanting some time off.

Sometimes any game gets frustrating or repetitive and you just want to do something that feels more novel, fun, fulfilling, or healthy for a while. In time, EQ/EQ2 may start to feel fun again. SoR will be here.

Breaks from the game make the game more fun. It's not all or nothing - you don't have to quit the game if you can't "keep up." It's not a race. That's something other guilds may have taught you, but it's not the case here. A level 1 character will always have someone to talk to and play with in SoR no matter how "progressed" the server as a whole is.

Play when you want, how you want. Only you know the right balance for you, and you don't need to apologize or explain to anyone.

Is your guild listed when a player hits '/u'? If not, what's the best way to talk to someone? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Thanks for your interest in the guild! The guild listings are sort of random - which ones show on which days isn't under our control really, but I know we do show up sometimes. If not, do a search using the Casual and Questing and Roleplay tags and maybe we'll pop up.

Otherwise, do a "/who renewal all" search and send a tell to anyone you see to ask them if there's an officer on who can talk to you.

Bad timing as I am about to be gone from game for 4 days, but our officers are nice folks and don't bite!

If all else fails, I am on every single Saturday guaranteed, from about 7-10p Eastern time. I'm on more often than that, but it's not as predictable as I don't have regular 9-5 work hours and so my days are all chopped up into work and play kind of at random. :)

Thanks to the enjoyment everyone has gotten out of our Saturday grouping event, we're adding a new event on Tuesday nights!

Same rules as the Saturday event, also Qeynos side, but different level range! Starting Tuesday the 13th at 7pm Eastern, anyone levels 6-10 is welcome to join us with help in that particularly tricky level range as we group our way through Oakmyst Forest and/or Peat Bog and/or Forest Ruins.

Original post updated with latest event information.

Our Saturday casual grouping event starts as usual tonight at 4p Pacific / 7p Eastern. Good aligned characters from all guilds meet us in Antonica, on the bridge outside the gates to S Qeynos! Level range is 20-24, and we'll be heading to Stormhold and/or Antonica/Thundering Steppes to help people finish those pesky quest objectives!

These are chatty groups (in text), lots of communication about quest objectives, lore, dad jokes, and general socialization, rather than max-efficiency grinds. If that's your vibe, please come join us! Just send me a tell or post here by 3:45 P/6:45 E so I can better slot you into the right group. :)

This Saturday we're going to be working on level 20 armor quests! Anyone is welcome who is kind & friendly and doesn't mind chatting, joking around, and doubling back to help others. We'll start at our usual 4 Pacific 7p Eastern, in Antonica outside the bridge to S Qeynos. Send me (Leialee) a tell if you're on and want to be assigned a group!

A message to guildies and to future guildies about why SoR exists and why you don't need to keep doing something that isn't fun:

One of the founding principles behind SoR is, take a break from EQ2 whenever you need, for as long as you need, with no negative repercussions from the rest of the guild. Why? Because a couple of years back, I was in a rough place and needed almost six months off from a leisure activity I did with friends. I was afraid there would be no place for me when I came back, that everyone would forget about me. They didn't. I've never forgotten how good that made me feel.

IMO, EQ2 should be a thing we do for fun and to enjoy the company of friends. Sometimes, to keep things fun, we have to take breaks. SoR remains committed to being the one guild that will never say goodbye to you unless you truly want to be gone forever. The one guild who doesn't care where you've been and why, and is just happy to see you.

Life is short. EQ2 should be fun. If you find yourself complaining more often than you enthuse about something you spend your leisure time doing, it might be break time. Forget the idea that taking a break is somehow letting people down - this is not a raiding guild, and we'll always have enough people to band together and explore Azeroth in our own eccentric, low-pressure kind of way. I'll make sure of that. So you just relax and do what you enjoy.

Play hard when you're in the right mood to do it, and drift away when you're not feeling it. We'll make sure you have something awesome to drift back to when you're ready.
