On OG EQ, I played on Sullon Zek, after briefly trying Rallos Zek, and loved it (this is at the exact same time as Fancy). Afterwards, I played WoW BG's, earning Sergeant, Grunt and Field Marshal titles for different characters (3 to be exact). After that, I played DAoC, earning the title "Baron" on one character. Then, I went on to play Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and earned the title "The Psychopath". I'm familiar with PVP in MMOs.
Early on in my EQ2 career,
@Sunlei suggested I try EQ2 PVP and I almost instantly regretted it. I have no idea what it's like now, but back when I started, people poopsocked new players! It was a griefers dream server. I posted in the old forums that the problems with the PVP server were not necessarily DBG's policies but the people playing.
Over the years, as an IT developer (web and web-technology included), I've found the Internet to represent the absolute worst in humanity. If that is the case, EQ2 PVP players represent the worst of the worst, on average. I would have encouraged their mother to kick them out of her basement, but I don't know how a 50-year old sociopath would actually make it in today's world without being obliterated immediately.
I'm holding back on my assessment, wanting to be kind enough to not hurt people's feelings, btw.
